Friendly-Helpers Discord-Bot

Setup & Discord centres

You know your server best. Friendly Helpers lets you choose which features belong there. Invite the bot, open the right setup entry point and try one feature first. Personal Discord centres guide you while you stay on your server.

This guide is in English. The bot, Control Panel and original screenshots currently use German. Commands and button names below match the interface.

Setup & Discord centres

A few steps to make it yours.

Start small

A thoughtful welcome or a quiz question is enough for your first shared moment.

No need to memorise commands

One entry command opens the centre. Menus, buttons and forms take you from there.

Fit your way of working

Quick changes in Discord, longer messages in a browser: use whichever suits the moment.

What you can do

Six direct entry points

Welcome, notifications, server statistics, clan statistics, quizzes and demo mode each have a Discord centre.

Personal administration

The admin centre is visible only to you. Other members do not receive configuration messages in public chat.

Easy to reopen

The same entry command also edits an existing configuration. Reopen the centre after a longer pause when needed.

Get started

A few deliberate steps take you from an idea to a feature your members can use.

  1. Invite the bot

Use the invite button and choose your Discord server. You need the appropriate management permissions there to configure it.

  2. Find your bearings

Open help to find commands and the relevant management entry points.

    /help
  3. Open a centre

Choose an entry point below for your first feature. Alternatively, sign in to the Control Panel with Discord.

  4. Test and enable deliberately

Choose the channel and content, use the relevant test and check the result. Then enable only the features you want to use.

Where to manage it

Discord centres

A selected setting is saved immediately. Reopen the centre after ten minutes of inactivity or a bot restart.

Control Panel

Choose your server and use the save bar. The Operations Center also follows the rules of its limited introduction.

The permissions you need

Bot permissions are already prepared

Our invite link already includes the appropriate bot permissions. Accept the suggested selection when inviting the bot and keep those bot-role permissions unchanged afterwards. You do not need to configure them one by one.

Channel access: Private or restricted channels must still allow the bot role the access it needs in your chosen channel.

  • To configure this feature, you need Administrator or Manage Server on your Discord server.
  • The bot does not need Administrator. Its effective permissions in the selected channel are what matters.
  • Depending on the feature, the bot needs channel viewing and sending permissions, plus Embed Links and sometimes Read Message History. Statistics display channels need Manage Channels.
  • Private channel rules can override permissions. Check the selected channel even if the bot role is configured correctly overall.

Good to know

I can’t see the setup command. What helps?

Check your Discord account, server permissions and permission to use application commands in the channel. Open the command picker on the server where the bot is installed.

The bot can’t write in the selected channel.

Check the channel rules for the bot role. A private channel must explicitly allow the bot access and the permissions required by the feature.

Does inviting the bot start every automation?

No. You configure features individually. Patch Radar is preselected on new servers but stays quiet without a target channel. You deliberately enable other automations; quiz and demo mode first require a successful test.
