It is now easier to plan a weekend on Public Test 15.10: specific missions and rewards supplement the test times already announced. The ships and the price of the second progression line in the upcoming Black Friday Event Pass have also been confirmed.
We round up the situation as of 17 October 2026, along with the additional details about Horror From the Abyss, the second KOTS XIX qualification weekend and the new community competition for destruction effects. The distinction remains important: the Public Test is already running, while the Update 15.10 content described here is still a preview of the live version.
Public Test 15.10: The total rewards
Our overview from 16 October already included the EU test times, but the specific rewards were still an open question. The fully checked information about the official test announcement now fills that gap.
Wargaming lists the following maximum amounts across both test rounds combined:
| Reward | Maximum total available |
|---|---|
| Community Tokens | 8,500 |
| Coal | 25,100 |
| Doubloons | 450 |
| Free XP | 150,000 |
| Credits | 24,400,000 |
| Elite Commander XP | 280,000 |
| Tactical Special containers | 5 |
| More Coal containers | 2 |
| Victory Salute permanent camouflage | 2 |
These are not guaranteed rewards for a single round or simply for logging in. Players must complete the relevant combat missions or claim the login rewards. The individual rewards listed below are part of this overall total; they should not simply be added to the maximum amounts again.
Most of the rewards listed are credited on the regular live server. They should be distinguished from resources provided solely for trying things out on the test server: those balances are not simply transferred to the main account. The information in the relevant mission applies to each individual reward.
Test missions worth planning around
The lower Base XP targets are particularly useful for a short first session. The researched overview includes the following:
| Task | Reward |
|---|---|
| 250 Base XP in a single Random or Co-op Battle | 100 Community Tokens on the live server |
| A total of 1,000 Base XP | A further 200 Community Tokens |
| 8,000 Base XP in Random Battles or Horror From the Abyss | 1 Tactical Special container |
| A mission requiring 12,000 Base XP | 1,600 Community Tokens |
| Deal 50,000 damage in each of at least three different horror Operations | 500 Community Tokens |
For the final mission in particular, the spread matters: three qualifying damage battles in the same Operation do not meet the stated condition. We should also check which battle types each XP mission allows; the selection of modes is not the same for every task.
The first EU test round ends on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, at 08:30 CEST. Anyone who already has the test client installed can still fit the smaller missions into the weekend. The full maximum rewards, however, cover both rounds and require correspondingly more playtime.
Login rewards and additional chances to win
Players entering the Public Test server for the very first time are due a one-time reward of 250 Doubloons, two More Coal containers and one Tactical Special container. The first login during each test round adds 100 Doubloons and 750 Coal per round. The one-time first-participation reward must therefore not be counted again for every round.
There is also a draw: players who earn at least 1,000 Base XP in a single battle can enter. Nine winners are selected per region. In addition, the player with the most Base XP in a single battle in each region receives the corresponding reward.
The prize is access to the second progression line of the upcoming Event Pass, or equivalent compensation. The draw rewards will be distributed after Update 15.10 is released. Reaching the XP threshold gives players a chance to win, not guaranteed access to the pass.
Black Friday Event Pass: What is free and what is set to cost 3,000 Doubloons
The Event Pass described here is announced for Update 15.10 and is not yet generally available on the live server as of 17 October. Its two progression lines combine Black Friday rewards with European cruiser Early Access.
| Progression line | Cost | Announced rewards and when they are received |
|---|---|---|
| First line | Free | 6 Black Friday containers and the European Tier IV cruiser Dragon ⚓ through progression; the European Tier V cruiser Kralj Petar I ⚓ as the final reward |
| Second line | 3,000 Doubloons | The European Tier VI cruiser Tre Kronor ⚓ immediately upon unlocking the line; another 6 Black Friday containers and the British Tier VI battleship Repulse B ⚓ through progression; 2 Black Friday Premium containers at the end |
Tre Kronor and Repulse B are therefore not both awarded immediately on payment. Tre Kronor comes with unlocking the second line; Repulse B must then be earned. The two free cruisers also require the corresponding progression.
Early Access covers the new European cruiser line from Dragon to Vanadis ⚓. The table shows the ships explicitly named for the Event Pass. Additional offers are planned for other cruisers, but their complete final costs have not yet been confirmed.
Wargaming also states a regional restriction: in countries that restrict the sale of random reward items, the paid line containing containers may not be available to unlock. The conditions applicable to the individual player are what matter.
Our take: Anyone considering the second line because of Repulse B should allow for the necessary progression as well as the 3,000 Doubloons. The free line already offers two entry ships for the new cruiser tree.
Horror From the Abyss: Expeditioner as a modular ship
We introduced the basic modular concept in our article about Ocean, Halloween and the horror event. The more detailed Public Test information now gives a clearer picture of the intended roles.
All players start with the same special rental ship, Expeditioner. It can be customised in five module areas, each with five development branches:
- Main battery
- Auxiliary armament
- Hull
- Consumables
- Shields
Wargaming gives examples of a heavily armoured gunship, a fast, destroyer-like ship armed with rockets and a hybrid cruiser with torpedoes and aircraft. The modules can also be improved and fitted with further upgrades.
Relics are used as the event currency to unlock new module branches and improvements. The progression system also adds special Commander talents. As a result, Expeditioner can be changed much more extensively than an ordinary ship through its regular modules.
Three special consumables
| Consumable | Described effect in the event |
|---|---|
| Magnetic Pull | Draws the attention of enemy bots to the player's ship while reducing the damage it takes. |
| Restorative Smoke Generator | Creates smoke in which the player's ship and allied ships can regenerate. |
| Omniscient Surveillance Radar | Combines spotting with periodic damage to enemies within its area of effect. |
These abilities belong to the special event mechanics. They have not been announced as general additions for regular researchable ships. Ranges, durations or specific damage values cannot be established from the available information.
Four Operations for seven players each
The plan is for four consecutive Operations, each played by seven players. They are due to unlock weekly during Update 15.10. During the first two weeks of Update 15.11, the four Operations are set to rotate in a modified form.
The environment also affects the battle. The descriptions include islands whose height changes and a dangerous cyclone that damages ships within its area of effect.
What interests us most is how freely chosen modules, Commander talents and support abilities work together in a team. Testing will show which combinations actually work well. The content remains in development and may change before release.
KOTS XIX: The second EU weekend and active Twitch Drops
The EU qualification for King of the Sea XIX continues on 17 and 18 October. The tournament days start at 15:00 CEST, with multiple matches scheduled rather than just one opening battle.
As of the research cutoff on 17 October at 11:43 CEST, no new results from that day's matches were available. The first readable section of the official match overview still showed matches from 10 and 11 October and did not verifiably cover every group in full. Current pairings and results can be found on the tournament platform.
The regional Twitch Drop window runs from 17 October at 08:00 CEST to 26 October at 00:59 CET. The different time zones account for the change to winter time.
After 180 minutes of watch time on participating channels with Drops enabled, players can unlock a two-part mission chain. Its announced rewards are:
- two permanent King of the Sea camouflages,
- a viewer flag,
- a choice between a King of the Sea container and 500 King Tokens.
The three hours initially unlock the Drop or mission chain. The further rewards then require completion of the specified missions. King Tokens can be used for themed items, so it is worth checking the available offers before choosing between the container and tokens.
Community competition: Help design a destruction effect
On 16 October, Wargaming announced the Enemy Destruction Effect Contest: Your Idea, Our Ocean. The community is first invited to vote on a theme and then submit its own ideas. Participation is planned through the official Discord server.
The submissions are intended to influence which new destruction effect is eventually added to the game. The announced competition rewards also include Premium ship containers.
However, the full competition text could not be read during research. Submission rules, voting deadlines, the number of winners and the exact distribution of containers therefore remain open here. The announcement and the basic process are confirmed by the official news overview. No specific ships or guaranteed rewards can be promised on that basis.
Anyone wishing to take part should check the complete rules in the official announcement or on the official Discord before submitting an idea.
Conclusion
For the weekend, Public Test 15.10 in particular offers concrete tasks: small Base XP targets provide a manageable starting point, while the maximum rewards are spread across both test rounds. The ships and price of the upcoming Black Friday Event Pass are now clearer, including the distinction between immediate access and further progression.
Horror From the Abyss adds versatile team abilities and unusual environments to the familiar modular concept. Meanwhile, the next KOTS weekend brings Drops, while the destruction effect competition is looking for creative ideas but still calls for a look at the full participation rules.
