Following the Ghost Month update, the next two dates for Where Winds Meet have already been confirmed. This time, we are not talking about some vague “coming soon”, but two concrete dates in September.
A new Martial Arts set, Bamboo Cut – Draught, arrives first on 3 September. Just under two weeks later, Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 follows on 16 September, bringing a much larger package and the finale of the current story arc.
3 September: Bamboo Cut – Draught
First up is Bamboo Cut – Draught, a new combat style inspired by the classic Drunken Master.
This should shake things up again, especially for players who enjoy trying different Martial Arts styles and builds. The new style was already shown in playable form at Gamescom.
We should find out fairly quickly whether Bamboo Cut – Draught merely looks gloriously ridiculous or actually enables strong new builds. Probably both.
16 September: Hidden Mountain reaches its finale
The more important date, however, is 16 September. That is when Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 arrives and concludes the current story arc.
At its centre is a direct confrontation with Qianye. There are also two special bosses, two further open-world bosses and additional activities surrounding the finale.
NetEase is also showing this part as a playable demo at Gamescom. This is not just a distant preview, but content practically on our doorstep.
What should you do until then?
Basically, the exact opposite of stressing out.
Ghost Month currently provides plenty of fresh content, while the next gameplay addition is already confirmed for 3 September. The big Hidden Mountain finale then follows on 16 September.
If you have not finished working through Hidden Mountain yet, that gives you a fairly clear schedule. There is no reason to rush through the current content at record speed.
Conclusion
September already has a clear shape for Where Winds Meet:
3 September: Bamboo Cut – Draught, bringing a new Drunken Master combat style.
16 September: Hidden Mountain Chapter 3, with Qianye, new bosses and the finale of the current story arc.
Until then, Ghost Month looks like the more sensible priority for us. Afterwards, we will see whether we can fight drunk or merely look the part.
