Two separate GitHub repositories have been prepared for Friendly Helpers. Both belong to the same project, but fulfil different purposes: one serves as a private code backup, while the other is a public showcase for the Discord bot's documentation.
A private backup for project code
The private repository holds the bot and website code. It creates a separate backup state for these two central project areas. Content that does not belong in a code backup is explicitly excluded.
That includes tokens, databases, logs and virtual environments. This clear boundary keeps the repository focused on its intended purpose: backing up project code without including live data, credentials or generated working environments.
A public showcase for documentation
The second repository is public, but does not contain a complete operational snapshot. It serves exclusively as a showcase and documentation for the Friendly Helper Discord bot. This lets the project present its features and structure without exposing the private backup.
The README and project structure have been expanded for this presentation. The public repository now has a clear framework in which to describe the bot. The focus is on information and insight, rather than backing up the running application.
Two purposes remain clearly separate
This division prevents backup and public presentation from becoming mixed together. The bot and website code stays in a private backup area. Documentation intended for the public is kept separately in its own showcase.
Both repositories therefore have a clear definition of what belongs in them. The private backup focuses on code and excludes sensitive or operational data. The public showcase focuses on the README, project structure and a documented introduction to the Discord bot.
