Ahoy, captains,
Friendly Helpers has fundamentally renewed its data foundation for ships and commanders. The result is more than a technical change behind the scenes: historical and special ships can now be found in the ship database, detail pages can clearly present far more values, and the commander section brings talents, enhanced skills and rank progressions together in full for the first time.
The three biggest changes are directly connected. A complete catalogue only becomes truly useful when its data is prepared properly, and the same care now applies to commanders.
Every ship: 1,209 entries in the complete catalogue
For the current data snapshot, the ship database contains all 1,209 recorded ships. Alongside the 994 regularly active reference ships, this includes 215 historical, disabled, unavailable, event and other special entries.
These additional ships are no longer hidden as a blanket rule. They remain discoverable through search, filters and their own detail pages, with a clear status marker directly on the ship image. Premium, special and lifecycle notices can appear together without overwriting one another.
Active features nevertheless remain clearly separated: rankings, player statistics and active Tech Tree links continue to use only currently eligible ships. The figure 994 is not a fixed upper limit. New regular ships can be added automatically with future data snapshots, while ships disabled later remain in the complete historical catalogue.
More data: much fuller ship details
The new data foundation allows much more complete preparation of ship data that can be displayed meaningfully and reliably. Depending on the ship, detail pages include:
- Main battery and ballistics for AP, HE and SAP
- Torpedo configurations and secondary battery
- Anti-aircraft defence and flak based on available components
- Combat aircraft, offensive Airstrike and ASW Air Support as separate sections
- Submarine battery, plus sonar and pinger values
- Consumables, upgrades and modules
- Mobility, concealment and a technical armour overview
Ship comparisons also use this expanded foundation. Values remain tied to their actual configurations. Where no reliable common basis for comparison exists, Friendly Helpers does not invent an artificial assessment.
The greater volume of data therefore does not come at the expense of context: historical ships do not accidentally enter active rankings, internal placeholders remain hidden, and missing images do not produce broken displays.
Commanders completely reworked
The entire commander section has also been rebuilt. 578 commanders, 82 skills and rank progressions for 13 nations now come from one jointly checked data snapshot.
Detail pages show large local portraits, full rank progression up to level 21 and all general commander skills. Special commanders display their talents separately by battle variant. Enhanced skills place standard and bonus values directly alongside each other and are identifiable by the green star familiar from the game.
New section navigation leads straight to commander data, talents, enhanced skills, skills and rank progression. Presentation stays in the familiar Friendly Helpers style: clear cards, gold accents and the existing subtle dot markers instead of additional warning boxes or unfamiliar badge designs.
A shared foundation for future data snapshots
Ships, comparisons, rankings, bot output and commander pages now use clearly separated, validated data areas. Friendly Helpers can therefore adopt future data snapshots without freezing today's catalogue as a fixed list.
For visitors, that mainly means three things: all known ships remain discoverable, available ship data becomes more comprehensible and comprehensive, and commanders can be explored in more detail than ever before.
